As of April 26, 2023, delivery and installation charges are no longer taxable in Michigan. Businesses can stop charging tax on separately stated delivery charges and installation immediately. This includes delivery by its other names such as: shipping, handling, postage, freight, crating, and packing. Furthermore, any outstanding balances are being cancelled and those with notices related to potential assessments on delivery charges and installation will no longer be pursued by the state of Michigan, though there may be some details to work out.
