Dan Owens joined VonLehman & Company Inc. in 1983. Mr. Owens’ expertise lies in meeting the accounting, audit, tax, and consulting needs of closely-held businesses and their owners. He has extensive experience in the construction and not-for-profit industries, is the former Chairman of the firm’s Construction/Real Estate Services Group, and is active in the firm’s Employee Benefit Plans and Nonprofit/Governmental Services Group. Mr. Owens is also a member of the firm’s Quality Control Committee, and performs peer reviews on other CPA firms.
Mr. Owens is a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional, a former member of the Board of Trustees of the Institute of Certified Construction Industry Financial Professionals, and remains active on a number of Institute’s committees. Mr. Owens is a founding member of CPAmerica’s national construction team of experts, writes for and proofreads CPAmerica’s construction newsletter, Building for Success, and has lead CPAmerica construction conference seminars and teleconferences. Mr. Owens is a frequent speaker on construction financial, accounting, and tax issues, including best practices for contractors.
