VonLehman CPA & Advisory Firm partnered with Fraternal Law Partners to offer, “Greek Organizations: Building the Board”. We heard from Anne Maxfield, nonprofit consultant, who helped participants advance their governance efforts through the creation of an effective board. She covered topics such as recruitment, orientation, training, the board-staff partnership, and measuring effectiveness. Functional and robust boards just do not happen; they are created, nurtured, and empowered. While every aspect of building a board cannot be covered in 50 minutes, Greek organizations Board Members and executives left the session with a better understanding strategies and tactics they can put into motion in their nonprofit.
